CRSS/CPRS Orientation
We welcome you to join us on September 17, 2025, for our next CRSS/CPRS Orientation. These sessions will provide basic information on the roles of a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) and a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPRS). It will include an overview of the certification process and CRSS/CPRS ethics. The training is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about becoming a CRSS/CPRS as well as those who are currently working towards their certification or renewal. We also encourage supervisors of CRSS/CPRS positions to attend.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the definitions of recovery used by the CRSS and CPRS credentials.
- Explain the requirements of earning & maintaining the CRSS/CPRS credentials.
- Identify resources available to support individuals seeking to earn or renew their CRSS or CPRS credential.
Handouts will be emailed to those who are registered no later than the day before the training. They will also be available to download from the Webex page for the training session once registered.
About CRSS/CPRS Orientation
This orientation was developed in response to needs expressed in training evaluation feedback from attendees of other sessions offered by our Wellness & Recovery Services Team. We hope that participants in this session will also fill out our evaluation survey after attending, so that we can continue to improve all trainings offered by our team.
2.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) have been applied for through the Illinois Certification Board (ICB).
